About Bridget
As co-founder of Kicks For Kids, I recognise the wide-reaching power of sport and its ability to positively and meaningfully impact communities in need.
My personal goal at the moment involves pursuing opportunities that make me feel like what I do really matters. And more often than not, these opportunities are characterised by a freedom to think creatively, to problem-solve, and to form genuine new connections with individuals who inspire me. One such opportunity for me has been my involvement with Kicks for Kids.
I am currently in my fourth year of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) at The University of Queensland. In my time at University I have found great joy in volunteering for Rosies' Friends on the Street Homeless Outreach. Outside of university, I have worked part-time as a Research Associate in the Investment Team for Hyperion Asset Management and also gained experience through my summer internship with Macquarie Bank in the Private Markets Asset Management division. In terms of hobbies, I love playing guitar as well as staying active through bush-walks, running, tennis, and social touch rugby league!

Why do I want to be a part of Kicks for Kids?
When Mac asked me to come on board this project, I reflected on the causes that truly matter to me. Mental health stood out to me as something I could not look past, especially given the profound impact it has had on the wellbeing of those close to me. And it's no secret that exercise is fundamental to mental health - a truth I've certainly come to recognise in my own life.
I'm truly grateful to have grown up with the opportunity to play sport as I recognise the wide-reaching benefits it brings. For me personally, sport has helped me to forge lasting friendships, learn how to ask for help, and most importantly, it has instilled in me a strong sense of self-belief and a genuine ability to back myself. This empowerment through sport drives my passion to encourage other girls, in particular, to embrace sports and feel just as engaged and excited about it as boys often do when growing up. Ultimately, I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the benefits of sports, including the motivation, mental resilience and joy it can bring.
On a broader level, I've also witnessed the incredible power that sport has in bringing people together, offering a sense of belonging to those facing various challenges. And at Kicks for Kids, we hope to create environments where all kids can thrive, feel included, and discover their potential. I wholeheartedly believe in our mission, and if you do too, I hope you will join us in making a difference!
