Why do I want to be a part of Kicks for Kids?

I lost my brother to CDH when he was a baby and my dad had served 20 years in the Royal Australian Airforce and passed away when I was four years of age. My mum was a strong believer that no matter the odds that are stacked against you, you should never let them defy you and rather beat them and achieve more. Growing up, we did a lot of travel in third word orphanages and schools in Southeast Asia, which profoundly impacted me. In 2023, I was sponsored by Legacy Australia to complete the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea. This life-changing experience solidified my purpose. The highlight of the 96km journey was using a soccer ball as a tool of communication and changing kids' lives with a simple game we often take for granted in Australia. As soon as I returned from PNG I met Mac who told me about his story. I instantly felt connected to the values of KFK and being apart of the team just felt meant to be.
